Dricus Du Plessis flattens Trevin Giles with devastating second-round knockout – .

For his second consecutive fight in the Octagon, Dricus Du Plessis comes home with a knockout victory.

On Saturday night at UFC 264, the South African fighter finished Trevin Giles with a devastating right hand that descended straight to the middle in a rally to earn him the final victory. The save came at 1:41 in the second round as Du Plessis went 2-0 in his UFC career.

Having previously shown the power of his left hand, Du Plessis was happy to prove his good packs were just as powerful while winning his seventh fight overall by either KO or TKO.

“The right hand also has the power,” said Du Plessis after his victory. “I knew there was a place for this straight line. It was amazing to be here. What a spectacular guy to fight.

Before the knockout, Du Plessis actually turned to his grappling to slow Giles down after seeing success early on with a lightning-fast jab. On the ground, Du Plessis constantly threatened submissions as he constantly threatened to move around the mound while forcing Giles to play his back defense.

The second round stayed on the toes with Giles showing a bit more aggression and he actually cut Du Plessis with a solid shot against the cage. Unfortunately for him, Du Plessis came back straight away with the end-of-fight punch in the middle that knocked Giles down for good.

With four consecutive wins in total, including back-to-back UFC wins, Du Plessis seems like a name to watch as he advances his career while looking to make waves in a deep middleweight division.
