Crystal Palace has asked about Schalke center-back Ozan Kabak, who was on loan at Liverpool last season.
The 21-year-old is also attracting interest from Bundesliga clubs as financially struggling Schalke is considering lowering his asking price.
Palace added Chelsea’s Marc Guehi this week, but has been monitoring developments with Turkey international Kabak for the past few months.

Liverpool did not take the option of signing Kabak as they had already decided to buy Ibrahima Konate from Red Bull Leipzig with talks initiated in December.
Kabak has been well regarded since his time at Anfield, but Liverpool were overloaded with center-backs.
Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil can Dijk are recovering from an injury while Konate featured on Tuesday night in their friendly against Stuttgart.

They will listen to offers of around £ 15million for Nathaniel Phillips who is wanted by Brighton and Burnley while Sheffield United are interested in Ben Davies who arrived from Preston North End on deadline day.

Liverpool had an option to buy Kabak from Schalke for £ 18million. Schalke was relegated last season and the German club’s cash flow crisis is such that they have been willing to lower that price to generate a faster sale.
