CNN’s Jim Acosta was booed by a crowd as he reported on former President Donald Trump’s visit to the border.
Trump traveled to the US-Mexico border on Wednesday with Republican Governor of Texas Greg Abbott. During the visit, Trump and Abbott openly criticized President Joe Biden for his approach to immigration policies.
At the end of his speech, Trump was interrupted by Acosta who shouted a question aloud to applause.
Rather than asking about the border, Acosta pivoted to ask Trump for his take on the Jan.6 Capitol riots.
“Trump, will you apologize for January 6th?” Shouted Acosta.
The crowd around Acosta booed loudly as Trump ignored the CNN reporter ‘s question.
The video was quickly posted on Twitter as various people reacted to the incident.
CNN’s ACOSTA RECEIVES GOP CLAIM ON CLAIM HE WAS BLOCKED IN LAST SECOND OF TRUMP BORDER BRIEFING
Acosta then tweeted about the event, writing, “At a border event with Trump and Abbott, I asked Trump if he was going to apologize for January 6. He did not answer. A crowd consisting mostly of GOP members and staff booed. “
He added that Trump continues to talk about the 2020 election after more than six months since the election.
It came after Acosta claimed Gov. Abbott was blocking press access by turning the roundtable into a “pool” coverage event. The claim was shared by Olivia Beavers of Politico, but was later corrected by Joanna Rodriguez of the Republican Governors Association.
“The office of @GovAbbott sent out several press releases last week indicating that a pool is likely due to capacity limitations. Then sent more details in the press releases yesterday and today specifically stating that there would be a pool, ”Rodriguez explained.

Acosta has fought many times with Donald Trump in the past. In 2018, Trump’s White House initially revoked Acosta’s press card following contentious behavior with a White House aide. A judge later overturned the ban less than two weeks later.
