Manchester United finally announced Sancho’s signing on Friday following the finalization of his £ 72.9million transfer from Borussia Dortmund and it has since been confirmed that the winger will wear the number 25 shirt ahead of Old Trafford loyalists on the next season.
Sancho’s signing is a signal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s intention as the United boss looks to strengthen his squad in the transfer market in hopes of mounting a challenge for the Premier League title next season – the Reds have waited eight years for a league title.
Although Solskjaer’s side finished ahead of Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester and Tottenham last season, these teams are expected to be competitive again next season, although that hasn’t stopped the rivals’ players United to wish Sancho good luck.
Sancho shared a photo of himself in a United shirt on his social media with the caption ‘the wait is finally over’ after his transfer was announced and notably Chilwell and Alli were among the comments sending the 21-year-old’s messages of support .
Chilwell commented on “congratulations brother” while Alli also called Sancho his “brother”.
