A Montreal Canadian was robbed last night. I’m not talking about being robbed in the hockey sense. The Lightning definitely won the Cup convincingly. I’m talking about the real vol — Le style d’Ocean’s Eleven.

Montreal right winger Brendan Gallagher returned home yesterday feeling rather depressed after his team lost in the Stanley Cup final in a 4-1 gentleman sweep. Unfortunately for him, the bad times have been only begins. Gallagher opened on front door of his house only to find out his house had been broken into while he and his team were in Tampa Bay for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final. Montreal fan favorite immediately posted a video on TikTok announcing what happened.

It’s hard. Gallagher tried to put a positive spin on the situation by playing Pitbull and Ne-Yo’s “Time of our Lives” in the background, claiming that Pitbull has “been there and done this” as the song’s lyrics say. – although it’s not clear whether or not Gallagher was being sarcastic.

It is not known which of Gallagher’s properties was stolen, although Montreal Police have made a statement to CTV News concerning the question and that the final of the ended just two nights ago, it is likely that it was his Montreal property – which featured on the Montreal Canadiens official Youtube channel. While visiting his home on ‘Habs Cribs’, Gallagher revealed several pieces of unique sports memorabilia, including a jersey from the Winter Classic 2016 signed by the entire Habs 2016 squad, a Habs themed poker table and Barry Sanders and Joe Montana jerseys that would definitely grab the attention of any potential thief. No statement was made detailing what was taken.

The team flew to Tampa Tuesday in the midst of Tropical Storm Elsa, so the theft could have taken place anytime during the two days the Canadians were away from home.

Gallagher has two goals and four assists in the 2021 playoffs, and he won’t be leaving Montreal anytime soon. The winger recently signed a contract extension keeping him under contract with Montreal until the 2027 season. So while Gallagher may not be too excited about his city at the moment, he will have to find the energy he had during the season to fight even when the chips are low. Hockey players are notoriously badass, so expect Gallagher to bounce back, using the past few days as motivation.
