Advocacy to help 11-year-old girl create memories before life-changing surgery – .

A campaign has been launched to give a young girl a trip to the zoo, before she undergoes heartbreaking surgery to have her leg amputated.
Serenity Harwood was born with a clubfoot and had six surgeries to correct it, but unfortunately there is nothing left to do.

Now Rhosymedre’s 11-year-old Wrexham and mom and dad Dawn and William face the devastating reality that she will have to have her leg removed within the next two to three months.

But in the meantime, family friend Becky Thompson has said they want to give her some amazing memories before she undergoes the procedure.

And one of the places they want to take the girl, who attends the local Rhosymedre primary school, is at the zoo.

Becky has created a gofundme page to raise money for Serenity travel.

On the page, a statement read: “Serenity is 11 years old and after many surgeries she unfortunately has her leg amputated later in the year, the money raised will fund incredible memories for Serenity and her family before they. are not going through the most difficult part of their lives.

“They would love to go to the zoo for a day and hopefully other places too. “

Serenity was born with a clubfoot

Becky said, “Serenity has been in constant pain and her kneecap keeps coming apart.

“Despite the surgeries, they were told there was nothing more they could do and it would only get worse.

“The serenity is really good, she takes it as it comes and nothing seems to put it in phase. She never complains.

“The family are as good as they can get, but they’ve been told the operation will likely take place in the next two or three months.

“She loves animals and would really love to go to the zoo.

“They would also like to go on a weekend in a caravan.
