The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoiler recap for Thursday, June 24 reveals Summer Newman (Hunter King) will ditch Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) while Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) accuses Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) of murder at the sequel to Naya The Confession of Benoît (Ptosha Storey).
At Crimson Lights Thursday in episode Y&R, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will welcome Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and give him a positive review of Jabot’s new waterproof mascara. She’ll look terribly shredded, so Jack will wonder if there’s a reason for the good mood.
Sally will insist that she is happy with the current situation in her life – and although she has lost Jack’s trust, she will still consider him to be one of the most fascinating men she has ever known. Sally will notice that she is staying for the long haul and will also be delighted that Jack is in Genoa City.
At the Grand Phoenix, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) will have a phone conversation with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) to set up a meeting regarding her shoe line.
Tara will be happy about her brilliant decision to stay in GC and will think that this fabulous city has everything she needs. This also goes for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Nearby, a suspicious Phyllis will spy and appear irritated.
At Society, Summer will finally admit that she received a job offer from Angelina Marchetti – one that will take her career to the next level. Kyle will point out that Summer said “will” instead of “could”.
Kyle will be incredulous that Summer took a job in Italy without even running it first. Kyle won’t understand why Summer would want this job when her whole life is there.
“Because I need to get away from Genoa City!” The summer will be unleashed. She will talk about withdrawing from the situation that developed with Tara and Harrison.
Summer will argue that she tried to ignore her instincts by advancing the marriage and trying to prove everything was okay.
Summer will suggest that the reality is that she doesn’t see herself raising a child who is the product of an affair with a woman who will be an integral part of Kyle’s life. “A woman you clearly still have feelings for!” Summer will be added.
Kyle will deny it and feel like Summer is throwing this all at him out of the blue.
However, Summer will argue that she saw some close and intimate moments between Kyle and Tara. Kyle will retort that he only loves Summer and will be willing to do this job if the job means that much to her.
Kyle will think he can just make the round trip from Milan, but Summer will feel like Kyle will end up resenting him for the time he missed with Harrison.
Kyle will be desperate as he insists that there must be a way for them to stay together. Summer will pretend she’s just doing what’s best for everyone before bursting into tears.
Meanwhile, Phyllis and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will debate why Summer suddenly abandons Kyle. They’ll end up grilling Summer, who insists they shouldn’t blame Kyle and should try to be happy for her.
Once Summer is gone, Nick will still be convinced that Kyle must have done something to hurt Summer. Phyllis, on the other hand, won’t be so sure.
When Kyle returns to Abbott Mansion, he will ask to speak alone with Jack. Tara will look curious when she comes out and gives them a chance to talk.
Kyle will admit that his life is suddenly on the brink of collapse – and he will have no idea how it turned out.
After Kyle informs Jack about Summer by accepting Milan’s offer, Jack will stand up for Summer. He will point out that the dynamics of relationships have changed and add that there are no easy answers.
Kyle will wonder how he’s keeping Summer from leaving, but Jack will ask if Kyle is really ready to let go of Harrison. He will suggest that Summer may have made this decision out of love for Kyle so he doesn’t have to choose.
Kyle will insist on the fact that he wants to live this adventure with Summer. He’ll think this might be the start of something great together, so Jack will wonder if Kyle can convince Summer of that.
Soon after, Kyle will find Summer crying in their suite. “Summer, I can’t let you do this. I won’t, ”said Kyle. Back with Tara, she goes to find information from Jack, pointing out that Kyle seemed upset.
Jack will comment on how hard change is before Tara texts Sally. Tara will insist that they are so close to getting what they both want, so Sally will read Tara’s message and smile.
On the cafe terrace, Denise Tolliver (Telma Hopkins) will meet Amanda and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). She will reveal that she was able to access Richard Nealon and Naya’s phone records for the two weeks leading up to the foster family reunion.
It was right before Richard was killed, so it was a crucial time.
Denise will note that no phone calls were made to Newman Enterprises, but that there were three at the Sutton office. There was also a phone call on Naya’s cell phone that lasted over five minutes.
Amanda will find this upsetting as Naya said she avoided Richard’s calls and swore she never spoke to him again. She will decide to confront her birth mother and get the truth.
In Amanda’s sequel, she will mourn how much her father wanted her and how much he fought for her. Amanda will rant at her family who lied to her from the start, but Devon will talk about how strong a woman she is.
“Am I strong enough to walk away from what’s left of my family now that I’ve finally found them?” Amanda will ask. Later, Amanda will let Naya in and ask for answers. She will explain that she knows full well that Naya spoke to Richard a week before his death.
Naya will wonder how Amanda could find out, so Amanda will insist that she has the phone records. After Naya admits that Richard reached out, she will confirm that Richard did some research and found out that she was pregnant.
Naya offered Richard money to let him go, but he was insulted and disgusted. He was also much more in love with Naya than he was with him.
Naya will insist that all Richard wanted was his daughters and admit that he knew she had twins. Amanda will realize that Naya had to go directly to Dad to warn him of the threat to his campaign.
Amanda staggers assuming Sutton killed Richard. “Sutton was prepared to commit murder to keep Hilary and me a secret!” Amanda will scream.
Amanda will add that before taking this case, she asked Naya if Sutton could be guilty and she was lied to. Naya will say that she didn’t lie back then and doesn’t lie now. She will make Amanda look her in the eye and see that she is telling the truth.
Naya will argue that Sutton didn’t devise a deadly plan to avoid political fallout – that he just isn’t that kind of man.
Naya begs Amanda to believe her, but she will meet total resistance. “I don’t think a fucking word is coming out of your mouth!” Amanda will retaliate.
