Three moments that led to the “fallout” of Prince Harry and Charles, including a thinned monarchy – .

Three key moments could have led to the apparent fallout between Prince Harry and Prince Charles – including the explosive interview with Oprah.
In an excerpt from Robert Lacey’s new book, Battle of Brothers, published in The Times, the author analyzes what went wrong between Princes Charles and Harry.

He lands the interview with Oprah, discussing the Lean Monarchy and how the title debate and Archie’s protection might have swayed feelings.

He also talks about Harry’s claims that Charles stopped taking his calls.

Here are three moments discussed by Mr. Lacey that contributed to the “fallout” between father and son.

Charles’s “light monarchy”

‘In pursuing his own cause of the lean monarchy, Prince Charles had made noise to further limit the number of HRHs created by the George V convention of 1917, thus cutting Archie off from his future prince-ship – and Meghan the took it personally, ”writes Mr. Lacey.

He said the issue was a matter of Archie’s title and status, but also concerns about security and protection.

Mr Lacey said the Queen changed the rules of a 1917 convention by extending HRH status to all of Prince William’s children, not just George, who, in the line of direct succession, would automatically receive the title.

The writer said: “No wonder Meghan has cried foul. “

His comments come as it has been claimed that Harry and Meghan’s son Archie will never be a prince as Prince Charles tries to reduce the monarchy’s exorbitant cost to taxpayers.

The first in line to the throne is said to be slashing fringe family members because he thinks the public is tired of footing the bill for addicts.

It has been reported that legal documents will be amended to ensure Archie does not become a prince – a title typically bestowed on the monarch’s grandchildren.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: ‘Harry and Meghan learned that Archie would never be a prince, even when Charles became king. ”

Harry opened up about his relationship with his father

Prince Charles “stopped taking Harry’s calls”

Mr Lacey said: ‘The media explanation as to why Charles stopped taking calls from Harry was all about the money – the long-suffering father was apparently tired of being’ treated as a cash machine, ”as a royal source put it, but there were more of the deeper issues. “

Prince Harry sensational told Oprah Winfrey that Prince Charles stopped taking her calls in the middle of the ‘Megxit’.

In Harry and Meghan’s revealing interview with the US presenter, the Duke of Sussex claims his father cleared him before the 36-year-old decided to leave the royal family.

The prince recounted how, while in Canada, his father did not answer his calls during family separation.

As father and son are now on good terms again, Harry said he felt ‘disappointed’ with his father and the couple had a lot of work to do as ‘a lot of injuries have occurred’.

L’interview d’Oprah

During the explosive interview with chat show host Oprah, Harry said he felt “really disappointed” with his father, saying, “He knows what pain feels like.

“Of course I will always love it, but there are a lot of injuries that have happened and I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try to heal that. “

It was in Oprah’s interview that Harry also revealed that his father had stopped taking her calls.

Speaking about his upbringing as a Royal, he later told Dax Shepard on his “Armchair Expert” podcast: “Regarding parenting, if I have felt any form of pain or suffering because of the pain? or the suffering that maybe my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure to break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on.

“It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that’s passed on anyway, so we as parents should do our best to try and say ‘you know what, this happened to me, I’m going to make sure this is not the case ‘it doesn’t happen to you’. “
