“Thelma and Louise” stars Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon have gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the beloved film of A Fugitive Girlfriend.
The stars posed in a blue convertible – like the one they drove in the film’s iconic last scene, where they were chased by cops to the edge of the Grand Canyon – as they attended a charity screening of the 1991 film in Los Angeles Friday. .
Davis, 65, and Sarandon, 75, shone at the event at the famous Greek Theater, hosted by MGM and Cinespia. The film celebrated the emancipation of women and the duo played the role of friends who go on the run after killing a man who tried to rape one of them.
“Thelma & Louise” won the Oscar for Best Screenplay in 1992, and Davis and Sarandon were both nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Directing, cinematography and film editing were also nominated.
