Simon Cowell “plans to sell his £ 15million haunted London mansion” – –

Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to sell his £ 15million mansion in London.

The music mogul, 61, bought the seven-bedroom home in October 2018 and is said to have been granted planning permission to add an outdoor pool and bar to the property, but has now changed his mind.

A former owner of the mansion, hedge fund billionaire Christopher Levett, has previously claimed that the spirit of Roman Emperor Hadrian’s gay lover Antinous haunts the house.

A source told The Sun: “Simon liked the property when he bought it and had a list of changes and improvements. But he seems to have changed his mind.

“So even though it’s not on the market yet, it’s likely to be on sale again very soon. “

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Simon for further comment.

Simon had appeared to adapt the house for his family to enjoy after it was announced that he had been given the green light from the council to remodel the pad, as work began in February.

Last year, sources claimed that the X Factor’s boss’s requests included a 15-meter outdoor pool, extended veranda and state-of-the-art security.

The star also had reportedly further tightened security at his £ 15million home earlier this year – five years after his Holland Park mansion was robbed in a £ 1million raid.

According to The Sun, Simon had moved to secure a “blind spot” rear entrance, with a building permit granted in January to implement the security measures.

It was understood at the time that Simon and his family (partner Lauren Silverman and son Eric, seven) were not living on the property.

The security allegations came six years after Darren February broke into Cowell’s five-bed block in Holland Park, through a patio door and stole jewelry and two passports.

Just ten days after he robbed the X Factor supremo home in December 2015, he hit father and 52-year-old motorcyclist Kenneth Baldwin with a car and killed him, after driving on the wrong side of the road at 58 mph.

February had previously been convicted of 37 burglaries, repeatedly targeting the affluent neighborhoods of Kensington and Bayswater which provided “rich choices”, prosecutor Denis Barry said.

When he broke into Cowell’s home on December 4, he was licensed for other burglaries and public order offenses. He committed 58 offenses over two decades and was first convicted at the age of 12.

Simon told the court how diamond rings worth £ 500,000 were stolen in the London raid. He also owns properties in Beverly Hills, Miami and Barbados.

And while spacious, the £ 15million London home comes with an interesting story after a previous owner claimed it was haunted by the ghost of Antinous – Roman Emperor Hadrian’s gay lover, the ruler of the Roman Empire from 117 to 138.

Former owner Mr Levett claims, as reported by The Sun, that he brought the spirit of Antinous into the house when he purchased a statue of him in 2014, inadvertently freeing the spirit of the Bithynian Greek on the property.

“It was delivered in a crate,” said the hedge fund billionaire. “When I was locked up, I heard the sound of heavy objects overturned from the living room where Antinous was still lying in his box. The same thing happened the next two nights. But there was no one there.

Speaking in 2019 after Simon bought the pad, a source claimed Simon believed it was more than just an urban legend.

The history of Antinous is tragic; he was a favorite of Hadrian and was known to be particularly “handsome”. The couple loved to hunt together, so the story relates.

It was widely assumed that the couple were having sex – and many were jealous of Antinous.

He died in October 130 in mysterious circumstances, while traveling along the Nile.

He never returned and the cause of his death remains a mystery to this day, with many speculating that he was murdered by other members of the Empire, jealous of his connection to Hadrian.

Others have speculated that he fell and drowned in the Nile, while some believe he committed suicide.

After his death, Hadrian deified Antinous and created a cult dedicated to him. Since his death he has been known both as a hero and as “the gay god”.

Christians and pagans attempted to quash the cult later in history, due to its homosexual undertones, but it is still considered alive and well.

It remains to be seen whether the Roman favorite has indeed clung to Judge X Factor – but Simon is no stranger to the paranormal.

Five years ago, he claimed to have always been in contact with the other party.

‘[The dead] I just want to make contact and say hello, ”he told The Sun in 2016.“ I had [a ghost] in my house when I lived in Kingston Hill. My mom and dad were staying with me and I heard that knocking on the door.

“I went to their room and said, ‘Are you knocking on my door? And they said, “It wasn’t us.” “

“There was a dog in the house who was also panicking. The next day I heard this crashing noise and all the stuff had fallen in the kitchen. There was no logical explanation. There was no wind but there was a presence. But I was not afraid.

This encounter resulted in an exorcism, Simon later revealed.
