Sainsbury’s and Pets At Home cat food recalled urgently over fears it could cause life-threatening illness – .

A number of cat foods have been urgently recalled by suppliers over concerns that they could cause serious illness in the cats that eat them.
Which? released the recalled products after veterinarians reported a spike in severe feline pancytopenia.

This disease causes a very rare condition in which cats’ blood cells rapidly decrease, leading to potentially very serious illness or, in the worst case, death.

“If your cat has already eaten the food and you are concerned about their health, you should seek advice from your veterinarian immediately. “

They added, “If you have purchased a product that has been the subject of a recall, you are entitled to a refund under consumer rights law.
