On Friday, WWE SmackDown premiered a Hell in a Cell match broadcast on network television, with Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Rey Mysterio. Roman Reigns affronte Rey Mysterio dans Hell in a Cell

Rey Mysterio opened the show with an inside-ring promo as the Cell was half-lowered. Mysterio cut a passionate promo stating that he warned his son Dominik about what could happen when you compete in the ring, but what Roman Reigns did by attacking Dominik was outside the bounds of what’s going on in the ring. ‘business. He again demanded that the match take place the same evening, stressing that he would not wait another night. Mysterio asked Reigns to accept the match in person, rather than on Twitter like he did on Thursday night. Reigns came to the entry ramp and asked if Mysterio was sure he really wanted to enter the cell with him, which Mysterio said he wanted more than anything in his life.

Universal Championship – Roman Reigns def. Rey Mysterio via submission with a modified anaconda choke. Mysterio gained an early advantage after using a fire extinguisher to first spray Reigns in the eyes before using it to punch Reigns in the head. Mysterio then ditched Reigns with a toolkit. Mysterio maintained his violent approach by wrapping a chair around Reigns neck and sending him into the cell and ring post. Although he missed Mysterio and put himself across a table, Reigns eventually returned, throwing Mysterio around – and into – the cell. Reigns countered a 619 with a big uppercut but entered the post on a missed spear, allowing Mysterio to hit a 619 before laying down in Reigns with a chair. Reigns hit a top rope frog splash with a chair over Reigns’ body. Instead of going for the pin, Mysterio returned to the top rope to hit a second frog splash for a count of two. Reigns countered a huricanrana by throwing Mysterio from the ring into the cell wall. Reigns is locked in a modified anaconda choke to force Mysterio to retreat. Jimmy Uso came into the ring to raise Reigns’ hand, with Jey Uso missing. Reigns locked himself in the choke once again after the match, forcing Mysterio to tap again to end the show.

It’s hard to complain too much about having a Hell in a Cell match on TV, even though the circumstances can be described as “weird.” Mysterio was offended for appearing as a threat, even though the end was inevitable. The affair with Jimmy being there but missing Jey is odd, but it will apparently play out in the weeks to come. At the very least, the game was as entertaining as you’d hoped for. Note : A-
