Despite what you might expect, the store doesn’t sell any products bearing the Netflix logo, but instead opts for products inspired by the streaming giant’s line of animated shows.
The current lineup includes clothing, accessories, and even a collectible miniature armor bust inspired by the original Netflix anime Yasuke.
Netflix worked with a wide range of designers and fashion brands around the world to create the merchandise, including Hypland, Japanese design company BEAMS, and Nathalie Nguyen.
Created by Jordan Bentley at the age of 13, Hypland combines anime style with streetwear and seems perfectly suited to the hit Netflix anime Yasuke.
If you’re looking for something a little different then maybe check out Nathalie Nguyen’s 3D Clock from Haruta de Yasuke, or a Kendama from the E92 robot from the Eden show. Items are available for pre-order and will ship later this year. If you want to learn more about the merchandise design process, each page has a section on designers and their approach to creating their designs.
The Netflix store is mainly focused on Netflix’s anime brands, so if you have any anime fans in your life who could do with a giveaway (or even, you know, yourself, we won’t judge), then it might be worth checking out. Netflix has had huge success with its animated series, so it’s no surprise that they are looking to release products related to the anime.
