Macy Gray has doubled down on her pressure to change the American flag, arguing that it represents “division and hate” these days.

The Grammy-winning singer recently went viral after writing an op-ed for MarketWatch on Juneteenth in which she called for the flag to receive an update to better reflect America’s past, alleging that it has “replaced The Confederate flag as a symbol of racism and hatred.

“America is great,” she wrote. ” It’s beautiful. Pure, it is not. It’s broken and in pieces. “

Speaking to Fox 11 in Los Angeles, Gray doubled down on his claim that the flag has become less and less of a symbol of national pride and is now in desperate need of an update.

In his editorial, Gray presented a new design for the American flag with some modifications. The main one is the addition of two more stars to represent the US territory of Puerto Rico and Washington, DC

She also wants to remove the color white, arguing that it is supposed to represent a “purity” that America no longer has. Instead, she showcases a collection of colors on the melanin scale that best represent the people of the country.
