Live action Dynasty warriors The film premiered in Hong Kong on April 29. It then opened in mainland China the next day, April 30. It was originally scheduled to premiere in 2018. It then moved on to debut in 2019, but was inevitably postponed until its 2021 release date.

Produced by the Hong Kong company China 3D, the live-action Dynasty warriors The film was directed by Hin Yeung Chow. His wife, Christine To Chi-Long, wrote the screenplay. Both are known for their work on Murderer, Nightfall, and Rise of the Legend.
The film stars Louis Koo as Lu Bu, Kai Wang as Cao Cao, Ray Lui as Yuan Shao, Justin Cheung as Zhang Fei, Carina Lau as the castle master of the Forge of Swords and Tony Yo-ning Yang as Liu Bei. Albert Wing-Ho Lee and Chi-long To were producers, while Jr. Stephen Siu was the executive producer of the film.
Live action Dynasty warriors The film is based on the famous video game series of the same name. Originally created by Omega Force and Koei, the series is a spin-off of the strategy game series Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is loosely based on Luo Guanzhong’s novel. Unlike its strategic counterpart, the Dynasty warriors games are known for their hack-and-slash mechanics.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is the most recent entry in the series. It’s now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. the Dynasty warriors the series itself has its own set of spinoffs. This includes Nintendo Switch games Guerriers Fire Emblem and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
