Lara Trump says those living near the border should take action against migrants – –

Lara Trump said Americans living near the southern border “had better arm themselves, have guns and be ready, and maybe they will have to take matters into their own hands” while speaking to Fox News.
Former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law was discussing border security when she appeared on Conservative News Channel on Saturday.

She also lambasted Vice President Kamala Harris for her efforts to try to tackle root causes during her recent diplomatic tour of Central America.

“She thinks she can just laugh at the border crisis and it’s embarrassing,” Ms. Trump said.

Ms Trump suggested that it must have been “insulting” for border patrol and ICE officers to hear of migrants crossing the border.

“It’s like we’re laughing at them. It’s disgusting and shameful to see, ”she said.

“I don’t know what you say to people who live on the southern border,” added Ms. Trump. “I guess they better arm themselves and take weapons and prepare themselves, and maybe they will have to take matters into their own hands.” People should never take this dangerous trip here. It is bad for Americans. It’s bad for migrants. It’s bad everywhere.

Ms Trump has been criticized on social media for her comments.

Photojournalist Zach Roberts tweeted: “I’m just saying casually on a national program that people should take up arms and start shooting immigrants. This is where we are.

Texas Congressional Democratic Candidate Russell Foster wrote: ” It’s dangerous. The former president’s daughter-in-law calls on people to shoot immigrants. It’s worse after several mass shootings over the past few days in Texas and elsewhere. This could lead to an increase in hate crimes across the country. “

U.S. Customs and Border Protection data released this week shows that May was the busiest month along the border with Mexico since Joe Biden entered the White House in January.

Le Washington Post reported that authorities intercepted 180,034 migrants during the month of May. The share of migrants from countries outside Central America and Mexico has increased, with data also showing that the current surge in the number of migrants is part of a 20-year record of illegal border crossings.
