Police arrested 18 people in the Euro 2020 clash between Scotland and England in London.
Officers were forced to separate warring fans in Leicester Square around 9 p.m. Friday after violence erupted.

The Scottish and English supporters were separated by a strong line of uniformed officers who escorted each group away from each other.

Members of the public were warned to avoid the area unless absolutely necessary while police dealt with the chaotic scenes.

Thousands of Scottish fans partied in the streets all day ahead of the 8pm kick-off at Wembley Stadium.

Metropolitan Police have now confirmed that more than a dozen football fans have been arrested by officers.

A force statement said: “As of 10:30 pm, 18 people had been arrested in connection with our police operation in the England v Scotland match.

“The majority of them were in central London and close to Wembley Stadium. ”

The officers continue to interact with the crowds. “
