Liverpool and Chelsea have also reportedly registered a transfer interest in Isak; the Reds see him as Roberto Firmino’s successor, while the Blues are looking an immediate signature from an attacker.

Dortmund currently have a buyout clause in Isak’s contract with Sociedad, with Sport1 signaling that the club could activate him if Erling Haaland leaves.

However, the Bundesliga giants are ready to waive these fees and cut ties with Isak entirely.

In fact, Sociedad are keen to extend Isak’s contract, a sentiment shared by the striker himself. Therefore, removing the buyout clause would help the La Liga club.

Isak wants to be a regular player and therefore the option of returning to Dortmund would not suit him.
