It was the fourth time in a week that levels had exceeded 200,000, bringing the total number of vaccinations to 12,366,899 on Friday at 8 p.m.

Ontario also crossed the 9,000 death mark, with 13 new COVID-19-related deaths on Friday, bringing the number of people who have lost their lives to 9,007.

The province reported 355 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 541,880 since the start of the pandemic.

Provincial hot spots remained Toronto (with 58 new cases), Waterloo (54), Peel (45), Hamilton (23) and the Porcupine Health Unit region (22).

In Ottawa-area health regions, Leeds, Grenville and Lanark reported two new cases on Friday. No new cases have been reported in Eastern Ontario Health, Kingston and Frontenac, and Renfrew County and District.

Quebec reported 160 new cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of people infected to 373,818 since the start of the pandemic.

There were nine new deaths reported, for a total of 11,189 deaths. There have been 11 additional cases in the Outaouais for a total of 12,426 since the start of the pandemic.

Province-wide, hospitalizations increased slightly to 178 cases. There were 39 people in intensive care.

91,197 vaccines were administered for a total of 7,249,641 doses.

The Outaoauis regional health authority said it would not make any new appointments for Pfizer vaccines until at least next week due to a province-wide supply delay.

Authorities said existing appointments would be honored.

Walk-in vaccination sites will continue with Moderna vaccine only.
