Coronation Street to broadcast first kiss between actors since pandemic – .

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has confirmed that he will broadcast his first filmed kiss between actors since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past year, the soap has followed the rules of social distancing, and as such intimate scenes have had to use different measures – for example, Tyrone Dobbs and Alina Pop’s kiss had an actual couple for the stars Alan Halsall and Ruxandra Porojnicu.

However, this Wednesday’s episode (June 30) will see James Bailey and Danny Tomlinson kissing after the former is publicly revealed to be gay at a press conference.

After the big moment, Danny reveals to James that he watched the lecture and tells him that he wants to be with him, leading to a passionate hug.

Filming of the moment was made possible after actors Nathan Graham and Dylan Brady were part of a tested cohort, meaning they could work from within two feet and kiss.

Pre-tested cohorts made possible other scenes from the soap opera, such as Alya and Yasmeen Nazir and Geoff Metcalfe’s fire stunt for the 60th birthday and Kevin and Debbie Webster locked in a refrigerator.

Meanwhile, Nathan has opened up about James’ decision to go out publicly for Digital spy, admitting that Danny influences him to be honest.

“Danny certainly has a big part in that because he’s back and they clearly still have feelings for each other,” he said. “So what’s most important to James at this point, is he hiding and maybe not having something with Danny?”

“But then if he goes out, are they going to get together, are they going to be happy together?” So that’s mainly what comes to mind at this time. “

Coronation Street will air this scene on Wednesday (June 30). You can also watch all of next week’s episodes on ITV Hub starting Monday, June 28.
