Clippers fear ACL injury for Kawhi Leonard – –

12h37 : More imaging will be done on Leonard’s knee to determine the severity of the injury, but these tests will have to wait until the swelling subsides, tweets Ramona Shelburne d’ESPN.

11h57 : the Lawn mowers afraid that the front Kawhi Léonard suffered an ACL injury, sources say Shams Charania of The Athletic (Lien Twitter).

Leonard will miss Game 5 of the Los Angeles Series against the Jazz on Wednesday night with a right knee injury that the Clippers called a sprain today. Neither the team’s announcement nor Charania’s report indicate Kawhi is undergoing an MRI on his injured knee, but that would likely be the next step in determining if there is damage to the ACL.

A full ACL tear would be the worst-case scenario for Leonard and the Clippers, but even a partial tear would almost certainly be an end to the season – it’s the injury that kept it going Spencer Dinwiddie on the shelves since December. A low grade sprain would be the best case, tweets Jeff Stotts de In Street Clothes.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Leonard and the Clippers, who have won back-to-back games against Utah and are just two games away from the Western Conference Finals for the first time in team history. With Kawhi unavailable on Wednesday – and potentially for longer than that – the Clippers suddenly became major underdogs to overtake Jazz and enter the third round.

We will provide more updates on Leonard’s status as they are flagged or announced.
