Christina Hendricks’ crime drama series Good Girls has been discontinued.
The NBC series, which also stars Retta and Mae Whitman, is halfway through its fourth season and will end after the remaining five episodes air.
Several other shows have been canceled by the network in the recent past, including Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Manifest, both of which received the ax earlier this month.

Good Girls has followed a trio of financially troubled moms who rob their local grocery store in an effort to alleviate their issues.
Once the crime is committed, their unofficial leader, played by Hendricks, slowly grows up to enjoy a lifestyle on the other side of the law, which pulls her and her friends deeper into the criminal lanes. .
Other artists who featured regularly on the program included Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson and Manny Montana.
Good Girls also boasts a formidable roster of recurring cast, including David Hornsby, Ione Skye, and Ethan Suplee, among others.

Kathleen Lee Perkins, best known for her work on shows such as Episodes and You’re The Worst, was originally scheduled to star on the show before her 46-year-old actor stepped in and filled the role.
Good Girls was created and produced by former Grey’s Anatomy screenwriter Jenna Bans, who also directed the screenplay for several episodes of the series.
The series as a whole received a generally positive critical reception, with many critics pointing out that while the series’ plot was incredible at times, its cast’s performance was generally strong.

The show did not perform very well when its episodes initially aired, despite being NBC’s second most-watched show on digital platforms.
The Good Girls production team was hoping they could continue the show’s story with a fifth season, although Deadline reported that NBC didn’t see a way to make things work financially.
Efforts were also made to transfer the series to Netflix, which owns the streaming rights for the series, although they were ultimately unsuccessful.
