The Borussia Dortmund star was born in Camberwell and grew up supporting West Londoners, citing Frank Lampard as one of his favorite players.
Sancho is currently with the England squad ahead of their Euro 2020 opener against Croatia on Sunday.
But at club level, his current employers are rejecting an offer from Manchester United, who want to sign the striker.
The Red Devils made moves to sign Sancho last summer, but couldn’t agree on an amount with the German squad.
Once again, this appears to be the sticking point with a £ 59million opening bid rejected by Dortmund yesterday.
United are currently around £ 20million from Sancho’s valuation and will have to file a new offer – but could the competition be on?
Chelsea have been loosely linked to the 21-year-old and he made no secret of his allegiances when asked about his English idols.
He said: “I would probably say Frank Lampard, I was a Chelsea fan growing up, I can’t lie!
“Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favorite players at the time. “

His comments have certainly thrilled Chelsea fans and they want their club to use their current status to pull the negotiations.
One said: ” @Chelsea FC can we hijack the case ”
“Sancho indirectly wants to join the European champions,” suggested another.
“Looks like someone is flirting with the European champions,” added a third.
Thomas Tuchel’s main priority appears to be a center-forward, but the addition of Sancho would certainly add to their quality.
The England star admitted that his teammates were giving him a hard time over his next move, but declined to give much.
He told Talksport: “All the boys have a lot of questions. I just tell them – ‘Look, I’m just focused on football right now’.
“I’m cool about it. There will always be speculation, especially when you are doing well. It’s just the way you handle it on the pitch and keep doing what you’re doing.
“If you continue like this I’m sure it won’t be a problem because the main thing is my football and that’s what I’m focusing on right now. “
Sancho has two more years on her contract at Dortmund and the Bundesliga are ready to cash in if they get the right offer.
