Tottenham appear to be on the verge of appointing ex-Roma coach Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach.
Former Manchester United and Arsenal ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who played under Fonseca at the Olimpico, has previously claimed the Portuguese boss is “similar” to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Mkhitaryan said: “He is similar to Tuchel [who managed him at Borussia Dortmund], he tries to put the players in the right position, giving them the freedom to enjoy their style of play. I have had the best coaches in my career and have learned a lot not only about football, but also about life.
“Even now that I’m 32, I want to learn, because I want to know a lot about football and about life.
“We play differently depending on who we’re up against, especially when we have the ball. Sometimes we have to stay tight, other times we have to stay wide. It depends on the game and the situation. This is not the position in which you start the match. in, it’s about space.
“We try to use the space to create opportunities for ourselves and for our teammates. The most important thing is the chemistry between the players because if you have chemistry you can do different things. If you don’t have one, it will be a bit difficult ”
