California unveils electronic option for COVID vaccine records – .

Authorities unveiled a new system on Friday that allows Californians to access a digital copy of their COVID-19 vaccination record.
While everyone who has been vaccinated for COVID-19 should have received a white paper card from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention detailing where and when they received their vaccine, state officials said an electronic option would offer residents an alternative.

While the California Department of Public Health “recommends that vaccinated Californians keep their CDC paper cards in a safe and secure place, we recognize that some people may prefer an electronic version,” said state epidemiologist, the Dr Erica Pan, in a statement. “And if one of the state’s nearly 20 million vaccinated Californians misplaces their paper map, the digital COVID-19 vaccine record provides a practical safeguard.”
