Blackpool, Lancaster and Blackburn register biggest increases as Lancashire registers 817 new Covid cases – .


817 other cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the 14 districts of Lancashire.
Public Health England data for the last 24-hour period again shows Blackburn with Darwen recording the bulk of the new positive tests.

The East Lancashire local authority, which remains on Scotland’s travel ban list, has seen its number rise by 101 cases since yesterday.

Blackpool and Lancaster saw the next biggest increases with 92 and 91 respectively, while six other boroughs saw their totals increase by at least 50.

Fylde and the Ribble Valley recorded the smallest daily increases with 22 cases each.

New figures from Public Health England show 20,479 new cases have been reported across the UK and 23 deaths within 28 days of testing positive.

A total of 44,581,771 people have now received the first dose of the vaccine while 32,721,762 have received a second dose.
