Alexander Wolfe discusses his WWE and NXT contracts – –

Recently, Wrestling Inc. Editor Nick Hausman spoke with former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Axel Tischer, formerly known as Alexander Wolfe, following Tischer’s recent departure from WWE. During the interview, Hausman and Tischer discussed SAnitY’s transition from NXT to the WWE Main List, and why Tischer felt that SAnitY did not click on the Main List.

“Number one, it was just the three of us without Nikki Cross,” Tischer noted. “Number two, we were called but were not used right away. Third, we never really got a chance to speak with Vince McMahon the first time around because he wasn’t there at the time. Number four was probably due to the fact that NXT and WWE are different product types. What works on NXT doesn’t always work on SmackDown or RAW, which are more common than NXT.

Tischer went on to discuss the momentum SANitY lost after being called up to NXT’s SmackDown on the main roster, and how optimistic he was at the start. He then explained how the group was going to quickly drop out due to the way they were booked.

“I think the first thumbnails they released were sweet, I loved them,” Tischer recalls. “It kind of described everything we did. You see ruins of buildings; you kinda see the chaos, the riots and everything. You hear us talking, and how they did it, it was kind of like an apocalypse and riot would happen across WWE. Until then, they [took] too long to take over from NXT. They showed the thumbnails for two or three weeks in a row, then they uploaded them to social media, and then again nothing happened.

“Then I think a few weeks later we made our debut and then we lost at SmackDown after that we were flawlessly beaten. Then we were gone for a few weeks, then came back and had a little program with The New Day. I remember we had this table match on Extreme Rules. After SmackDown, we got beaten up again, and then we disappeared again. So, most of the time, it’s important to be in the right place at the right time. We were told they had ideas and that “Vince is very excited to work with you, we have a lot of ideas for you, and you will be on every show. But they couldn’t pull the trigger fast enough. . . yeah, the idea a month ago was great, but right now it doesn’t fit into the whole program so we have to wait for all of that, and yeah, they dropped the ball.

When an NXT talent is called to the main roster, they are normally given a new contract with better pay. Tischer was asked about his contract after he was called to the main roster and if there were any changes in his status when he was fired at NXT.

“No,” Tischer replied quickly. “I had just signed the contract and I had two years left. So you stay under contract, and that’s it. Which I’m very grateful for because I went to NXT UK and just made some money on the main roster so that was cool.
