5 best trades the Raptors can do to help Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam – –

Toronto Raptors, Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam have had a very disappointing season. They missed the playoffs with a 27-45 record. They made the playoffs just over a season ago, but have taken a step back this season and will need to adjust the offseason to improve the roster.

Just two seasons ago, the Raptors were at the top of the basketball world as NBA champions. Obviously, there has been some turnover on the roster since then, with star Kawhi Leonard leaving for the Los Angeles Clippers after winning the championship. The Raptors have also lost some key players on this team and will need to revamp the roster in the future.

Here are the 5 best trades the Raptors can make this offseason with Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam.

Commercial targets of raptors:

5. Garde Ricky Rubio

While Kyle Lowry has been a legend with the Raptors, he is a free agent and could leave the team in free agency. It’s difficult to achieve the same level of production that Lowry brought in, so the Raptors will have to adapt. Ricky Rubio could become the playmaker and take on the passing ability that Lowry brought.

Although Rubio is not a great goalscorer, he is one of the best pure playmakers in the league. He would make a great addition to the Raptors bench unit and would be great for organizing the Raptors offense.

The Raptors should be doing this trade to improve the overall passing of the offense.

4. Reddish front cam

A young wing like Cam Reddish would suit the Raptors perfectly. He was part of the young core of the Atlanta Hawks but could be treated at the right price. Whether Reddish starts off with a small striker or leaves the bench, he would be a big compliment to the rest of the squad.

The Raptors should look to take a step for Reddish as he would provide defense and a three-point shot,

3. Center Mo Bamba

Mo Bamba hasn’t had much experience in his career so far, but could be a solid backup center for the Raptors. The Orlando Magic are in the process of rebuilding the roster as they traded key players on the deadline. Bamba could also be moved and could become part of the core of the Raptors bench.

Bamba averaged 8 points per game with 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Although these numbers are not elite, there is still a young player who could develop even more.

If the Raptors make that decision, they could have a save center for years to come.

2. Garde Malcolm Brogdon

The Raptors must accept the reality that Lowry may leave the team and free agency and find a replacement. The Indiana Pacers are guarding Malcolm Brogdon as they appear to be heading for a rebuild. Brogdon would be fine, especially next to VanVleet.

He averaged 21.2 points per game with 5.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists. Brogdon also shot 38.8% from the three-point line and would be a perfect fit for this Raptors team.

If Brogdon becomes available, the Raptors must pounce on it.

1. Centre Christian Wood

The Houston Rockets are heading for a rebuild and they are leaving Christian Wood. Wood signed a 3-year, $ 41 million contract last offseason and played very well in his first year with the Rockets. Sadly, star James Harden requested a trade early in the season, which took a toll on the team.

The Rockets finished 17-55, but Wood was a beacon of hope for the team. He averaged 21 points per game and 9.6 rebounds. He is a very talented offensive player and would fit well into the Raptors offense. Siakam and VanVleet would be the main beneficiaries if they could acquire Wood.

If the Raptors can make those trades in the offseason, the team will be ready for a return to the playoffs.
