Update: This story has been updated after Toyota released an official image of the 2022 Toyota Tundra
The next generation Toyota Tundra is finally arriving after more than a decade, and now the wait to see the new full-size truck seems over.

On Thursday, Tundras.com forum member Tibetan Nomad posted leaked images of the 2022 Toyota Tundra, which were allegedly posted to the TundraCrew Facebook group by a dealership employee. Toyota responded by posting a single photo of the new truck.

Considering the lighting and background, the images appear to be screenshots of official press footage or a video walk in the studio.

Based on the wheels and the wording stamped on the tailgate, the 2022 Toyota Tundra shown is the off-road oriented TRD Pro model.

We’ve seen some teaser footage before, so there aren’t a ton of surprises in the front-end design. In the pictures we see LED lighting, amber parking lights, a high beam in the grille just below the word Toyota, and fog lights at the bottom of the grille. The rear of the domed hood is named after the trim, in this case TRD Pro.

The black wheels, presumably aluminum, are wrapped in Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires.

The tailgate is TRD Pro engraved with three amber LED position lights above the release handle. The vertical LED tail lights have dual lighting elements.

The next-gen Tundra is expected to ride on a new modular truck platform that will also underpin the next-gen Tacoma, 4Runner and Sequoia.

The current Tundra’s 5.7-liter V8 will likely be retired with the redesign. A new twin-turbo V6 is expected to equip the 2022 Tundra with an optional hybrid version.

Stay tuned for more on the 2022 Toyota Tundra.
