West Ham players’ ratings against Burnley as Michail Antonio, Said Benrahma and Manuel Lanzini impress – fr

Lukasz Fabianski – As loud and steady as ever at the back for the Hammers, they produced a magnificent second half save to stop Josh Brownhill, the type of moment that is as good as a goal. 7
Vladimir Coufal – Another strong performance from the Czech international. Produced a perfect cross to assist the opening goal of Michail Antonio, an invaluable member of the West Ham team. Well advanced and whipped up a number of excellent balls. 7

Issa Diop – A big mistake by the Frenchman to put Soucek under pressure to concede the penalty and a fragile performance in the first half full of errors and indecision. Improved as the game progressed. 5

Craig Dawson – A much better display than his previous one. Did well in the air against a Burnley shootout of long balls and physically equaled Chris Wood and Nick Pope in the end. 6

Aaron Cresswell – A welcome and an excellent return for the left rear. Provides organization and leadership as well as a strong defensive performance. 7

Tomas Soucek – A bad decision in the first half cost his team a penalty, but he recovered to ensure the protection of his central defenders and play a good goalkeeper role allowing forwards to counter rhythm. 6

Manuel Lanzini – Playing a deeper role alongside Soucek, Lanzini more than held his own. Well distributed the game and seen a lot of the ball, not as disciplined defensively as Mark Noble or Declan Rice, but a good performance. 8

Pablo Fornals – The constantly underrated Spaniard was as reliable as ever. Playing on the right side, he was industrious, moved the ball quickly and introduced a number of counterattacks, reluctant to shoot coming in on his left foot which caused him to lose some shooting chances. 7

Said Benrahma, at 79 ‘- Algeria’s best game since arriving at West Ham in October, pace and skill to come, constant threat complemented by incredible assist for Antonio’s second goal. Benrahma was producing this display while fasting during Ramadan and ate his first food of the day during a break in play towards the end of the first half, an extremely impressive effort. 7

Jesse Lingard – A calm game for Lingard, essential for giving rhythm to the counterattack, had an excellent chance to add to his impressive goal tally, but saw his effort well saved by Nick Pope. 6

Michail Antonio – A nice return to the team with a powerful header to equalize and a tap-in in the first half. A huge boost for David Moyes to be able to call on his services again. Scored twice had chances for three more at least. 7

Submarines:

Jarrod Bowen, sur 79 ‘- A good driving race to take the pressure off the defense and won a foul in the process, otherwise had little ball. 6
