Walmart, Trader Joes and Costco say vaccinated customers don’t have to wear masks – fr

The companies announced Friday that shoppers who have been fully vaccinated will be allowed to enter the store without a mask.
The three retailers, whose stores are some of the busiest in the country, made the announcement following the recent Center for Disease Control announcement in which they said people who have been vaccinated may start going to some places. without masking.
According to CNN, unvaccinated customers will need to continue wearing masks until they have received their vaccines. Additionally, in places where mask mandates still exist, masks will be required. While Costco and Walmart extended the new exception to employees, Trader Joe’s staff must still wear masks. Masks will still need to be worn in some sections, such as the pharmacy.
The changing rules make many wonder how they will be enforced. The three companies have said they will not require proof of vaccination, CNN Business reports. At Costco, for example, they said they will “ask for responsible and respectful member cooperation with this revised policy.”
While most businesses still need to cover their faces, for some people this move signals a return to normalcy is imminent.
