Wales’ pubs, restaurants and shops with zero food hygiene scores – fr

Twenty businesses, including cash and bears, pubs, take-out, restaurants and newsagents have a food hygiene rating of zero in Wales.
As the planned date for the reopening of indoor hospitality businesses draws near, this is the full list of businesses that currently hold a zero food hygiene rating in Wales.

Environmental health inspectors have reported problems with a number of sites and operators in the food and drink industry in Wales.

Inspectors use the Food Standards Agency’s Food Hygiene Rating System to review a number of areas related to hygiene and cleanliness during regular inspections that are carried out periodically to ensure that companies serve customers in a safe and hygienic manner.

Elements taken into account when assessing the hygiene of an establishment include:

  • The degree of hygiene of food handling – how it is prepared, cooked, reheated, cooled and stored.
  • The condition of the building – cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities.
  • How the company manages and records what it does to ensure food is safe.

The information used in this article is correct on the Food Standards Agency website as of Friday May 7 and all results have been confirmed with local councils where possible.
