ITV launched the dance-themed spin-off of its hit series The masked singer, and for its first, The masked dancer was just as spectacular as the original.
Hosted by Joel Dommett, it kicked off tonight (May 29) with the top six dancers competing in a head-to-head, with Zip vs Knickerbocker Glory, Beetroot vs Llama and Viper vs Scarecrow on the match card.
Knickerbocker Glory, Beetroot and Viper each got the lowest number of votes in their showdown and ended up in the bottom three, with the judges deciding to save Knickerbocker Glory and Beetroot.
It was then Viper’s turn to remove his mask, revealing himself to be Diversity star Jordan Banjo, with Mo Gilligan and rookie judge Oti Mabuse both guessing.
Other guesses from Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall included Tommy Fury and Anthony Joshua, which delighted the dancer.
“I just want to throw this here now, this whole experience was worth being called Anthony Joshua.” “
When Joel asked why he decided to participate, Jordan said he wanted to have a good time after the last year of lockdowns and restrictions.

“Last year everyone was in a place where it wasn’t fun, and something like The masked dancer, and come here, dress stupidly and laugh. Let’s have a little fun, man, ”he said.
As the show continues nightly for the week ahead, fans can expect to see more celebrities stepping out from under masks.
Host Joel Dommett once said OK Magazine that there are some very big names to watch out for: “There are incredible revelations. One in particular took us completely by surprise. You wouldn’t expect someone like this to do the show. This is the biggest reaction we have had. “
The masked dancer will airs on ITV. The episodes will continue to air nightly over the coming week, except Wednesday, June 2.
