MONTREAL – The National Hockey League announced the schedule for the first round of the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs on Thursday.
The Canadiens kick off their best-of-seven series against the Maple Leafs on Thursday, May 20 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

It will be the first playoff series between Montreal and Toronto since 1979.
They have already met 15 times in the playoffs. Montreal won eight of those series.
Interim head coach Dominique Ducharme gave his players Thursday and Friday leave after a grueling schedule to close the regular season.
The Canadiens will resume training on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.
