SpaceX’s Starlink Satellite Internet Service Receives 500,000 Preorders, Says Company – fr

SpaceX Tuesday disclosed that it has received 500,000 pre-orders for its Starlink satellite Internet service and that it does not anticipate any technical problems to meet the demand. But Elon Musk says it might be “more of a challenge when we get into the multi-million user range.” He added that “the only limitation is the high density of users in urban areas”. To date, SpaceX has nearly 10,000 users using its Starlink satellite service, which it launched in February. Pre-orders required a deposit of $ 99, which does not guarantee service, and slots are limited in various geographies due to capacity limitations. Despite its limitations, SpaceX laid the groundwork to serve up to 5 million subscribers in the United States eventually.
