Aaron Taylor-Johnson gets the chance to dip Marvel’s Garlic Sauce twice. the Avengers: Age of Ultron The star has signed on to play Kraven the Hunter in an adjacent IP film for Sony Spider-Man. According to Variety, Triple frontier Director JC Chandor will direct the film, from a screenplay by Richard Wenk, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Taylor-Johnson didn’t come out of the MCU early enough, so it’s good to be given a second chance – just like Chris Evans did with Johnny Storm and Captain America. And, of course, Quicksilver somehow came back WandaVision. It is fair that Taylor-Johnson has his turn.
Kraven the hunter is a hoot and a half. The character was created in 1964, a Russian type “Great White Hunter” who likes to kill animals with his bare hands. Remember that study that went viral last week on what animals you might take into a fight? Kraven epitomizes it, but in an animal print that hugs from head to toe. Kraven the Hunter was an OG member of the Sinister Six, a group of villains who team up to try and take down their shared enemy Spider-Man. (Shock of all shocks, they can’t.) As an inherited member of this group, Kraven made a cameo appearance Spider-Man: Turn off the darkness. Specifically, he appears to have a cat face sticking out of his chest during “A Freak Like Me Needs Company”.
The lyrics of this song seem to suggest that instead of killing animals with his bare hands, he’s having sex with them? Anyway, Kraven the hunter is slated for release on January 13, 2023.
