Sometimes Simone Biles surprises herself with some of the things she can do as a gymnast.
Biles, one of the greatest Olympians in the history of the event, did what was thought nearly impossible for a gymnast over the weekend: complete Yurchenko’s double spade on vault. No woman had ever completed the move in a competition, but Biles managed to pull it off.

“Unbelievable,” said one of the broadcasters after Biles landed.
She told NBC Sports what went through her head when she went upstairs to perform the move.
“I was just thinking, ‘Do it like in training. Don’t try to do too many things’, because as soon as I raise my hand I tend to be in control, which I did a little bit, but at least I was always on my feet ”, a Biles said, via Yahoo Sports. “It’s a new safe. I’m proud of how the day went, although it was a bit rough and unusual. But it was OK. “

“Because I can,” she replied,
On Monday, Biles still seemed to come down from the top of the movement.
“I’m sorry but I can’t believe I participated (sic) in a double spike on the jump,” she wrote.
