Senator Charles Schumer calls for return of 24/7 subway service to New York – fr

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – As more New Yorkers return to their offices, Senator Charles Schumer says it’s time for the MTA to restore full 24/7 subway service. The call for full service restoration comes as the metro system experiences its highest number of sweeps since March 2020.
“We are in New York. People work at 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, that’s how we are, ”Schumer said. “New York is famous for having 24 hour subway service and we are here to urge the MTA to restore that service as soon as possible. At present, the subways are closed from 2 to 4 am for daily cleaning.
