“Dozens” of people from Lebanon stormed border fences and briefly entered Israel, while hundreds in Jordan tried to do the same along the country’s eastern border in another escalation of the crisis which engulfs the region.
Extraordinary footage broadcast live on social media platforms showed crowds, fences at Israel’s northern and eastern borders waving Palestinian flags.

The IDF said its tanks fired warning shots at a number of what it called “rioters” who had crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

“The suspects sabotaged the fence and set the area on fire before returning to Lebanese territory. Israeli media said there were “dozens” in the crowd.

At the same time, the Jordanian riot forcibly dispersed hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters trying to do the same along the border crossing the Israeli-occupied West Bank to the south and east.

Witnesses said police fired tear gas and fired in the air to arrest around 500 young protesters near the Allenby Bridge / King Hussein Passage in the West Bank.

Social media commentators said the Jordanians cut border barriers to access the West Bank.

Crowds strayed from the planned route of an organized near border march to protest Israeli attacks on Palestinians.
