Police search Toronto rapper wanted for first degree murder in fatal North York shooting – fr

Police have raised charges against a Toronto rapper of first degree murder in connection with the North York parking lot shooting in January that left a 20-year-old student dead.

On the evening of January 31, emergency teams were called to the Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue area for reports of “automatic gunfire”.

Police said Hashim Omar Hashi was in his car waiting to enter his apartment building parking lot when a suspect approached from the passenger side and fired multiple shots at him.

Hashi was pronounced dead at the scene.

About two weeks after the shooting, police announced that two people had been taken into custody in connection with the incident, including Hassan Ali, 22.

He was initially charged with aiding and abetting murder and breach of probation, along with other drug-related offenses.

Police have confirmed Ali is also known as Toronto rapper Top5.

Police said on Thursday the charges against Ali had been reset and he was now wanted for first degree murder and three counts of breach of recognizance.

Police have not said how Ali was released, but are now calling for help to locate him.

“We think he’s violent and dangerous. Don’t come near. Call 9-1-1 immediately, ”police said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
