Instead, her co-host Phillip Schofield opened the show with Rochelle Humes replacing her.
But Phil was quick to explain why his boyfriend and co-host Holly wasn’t on the show in the morning, with Bank Holiday Monday.
Holly very rarely hosts the show on holidays or other school vacations – and Phil himself normally misses them, too.
The pair are usually replaced by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, or others including Alison Hammond or Rochelle.
But Phil decided to host Monday’s episode, while Holly took the day off to be with her kids as she normally does.
Maybe Phil chose to come because it was Line of Duty in the series that followed the Series Six finale the night before.
Meanwhile, he joked that Rochelle had chosen to abandon her own children to replace Holly, sending the couple into hysteria.
Rochelle said Holly was “a better mom than she is,” while sharing her excitement at being back on the This Morning couch.
Just in case viewers were wondering where Holly was, after recently taking an extended midterm hiatus, Phillip informed them that Rochelle was up for just one day.
He said, “We should also say it’s Bank Holiday, so Holly is with the kids today, Rochelle is today. “
Phillip then joked: “You’ve decided to leave yours…”
An amused Rochelle replied, “I know, I don’t know about Holly, she’s a better mom than me. Are you telling me that there is no more school again? No Phil, I’m coming to work. “
Many viewers took to Twitter to wonder where Holly was, but others quickly realized that it was okay for her and Phil to be absent from Bank Holiday shows.
This morning airs weekdays at 10 a.m. on ITV.
