The new cases, along with 182 recoveries, mean the province now has 638 active cases. Of the new cases, 18 are in the eastern zone, 14 in the central zone and one in the northern zone.
One of the new cases in the East Zone is a staff member at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, a long-term care facility in Sydney.
The spread of the community has been confirmed in Sydney as well as in the central area.
Today, 63 people are hospitalized, including 21 in intensive care.
Laboratories processed 6,413 COVID-19 tests on Wednesday.
Earlier Thursday, the province opened vaccine eligibility to people aged 12 and older. Further appointments will be available as vaccine supply is confirmed.
Premier Iain Rankin and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to hold a COVID-19 briefing on Friday at 2 p.m.

- New Brunswick reported nine new cases on Thursday. The province has 137 active cases.
- Newfoundland and Labrador reported six new cases Thursday and 89 active cases.
- PEI reported no new cases on Wednesday. The province has 13 active cases.
