Less reliable sources have indicated that they will appear in the film (i.e. not Hollywood trades), so their involvement remains a rumor for now. However, Garfield ultimately addressed these claims head-on in an interview with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Horowitz began asking questions about his possible Spider-Man return, but was quickly interrupted by the English actor.
“There is nothing to ruin, my brother! [Laughs] I had to cut you off quickly. There is nothing to ruin, ” S’exclama Garfield. “It’s so crazy. Man, this is really hilarious for me. I have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending and these are the people freaking out about something. I wish I could talk. to everyone and just say, ‘I recommend you relax.’ ”
After talking about having to deny his involvement in Spider-Man: No Coming Home and no one believes it, Garfield added: “I can’t speak for anything other than myself. They might be doing something, but I don’t have a call. “
Horowitz pushed the question and asked for a definitive yes or no answer. “I feel like I didn’t just say that?” I did not receive a call, “ he repeated. “I would have already received a call, that’s all I’m saying. I don’t want to spoil anything. Maybe they’ll call me and say, ‘Hey people want this!’ It may be a question of market research … ”
So he didn’t get a call… but what about an email? Check out Garfield’s comments in full below:
