There are 14 new confirmed cases of COVID in the province today – 11 in the Central region, two in the Eastern health region and one in the Western Health region.

All new confirmed cases except one in the center are linked to the cluster in this area, with one new presumptive positive case linked to the cluster.

Meanwhile, there are six presumptive positive cases in the Western Health Region that are linked to a positive case reported yesterday. Some schools in the Stephenville area as well as offices and recreation facilities are closed as a precaution.

Five people are hospitalized, including four in intensive care.

With seven new recoveries, there are 96 active COVID cases in the province.

Public health is also notifying rotational workers of outbreaks identified at two work sites in the west. They include Imperial Oil in Cold Lake, Alberta, and the Cigar Lake mine site in Saskatchewan.

Workers on rotation with these projects who have returned to Newfoundland and Labrador in the past 14 days must isolate themselves and physically move away from household members, and call 811 to arrange testing. These workers must now complete the full 14-day self-isolation period, regardless of the test result.
