Neymar banned for Coupe de France final against Monaco – fr

Neymar was excluded from the Coupe de France final against Monaco at the Stade de France next Wednesday after being suspended from a match by the French Football Federation (FFF) after the Paris Saint-Germain striker won a reservation against Montpellier in PSG’s penalty shootout victory in the semi-final.
The FFF disciplinary committee met on Friday to examine Neymar’s case and decided to ban a match. The sanction is not for the accumulation of yellow cards but for a repeat offense, said the FFF.

Neymar banned by the FFF for recidivism

A month ago, Neymar received a two-game ban after facing Lille’s Tiago Djaló during a Ligue 1 match. Although he was only warned against Montpellier and not sent off, the federation said it had decided to issue the ban as it considered it Neymar was playing under threat of penalty if he was again involved in a similar incident.

Neymar won’t be the only one absent from Mauricio Pochettino’s squad on May 19. PSG vice-captain Presnel Kimpembe will also be unavailable after receiving a three-game ban of the FFF after being expelled against Rennes last weekend in Ligue 1.
