New ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 teaser with Eleven & Dr. Brenner – Deadline – fr

Almost 15 months later Strange things launched the first teaser for Season 4, the hugely popular series Netflix this morning released a new preview of the upcoming season whose production has been disrupted by the pandemic.

The second trailer teases the alleged return of Dr. Martin Brenner, played by Matthew Modine. The video appears to be taking place at the Hawkins National Laboratory run by Brenner where he raised, trained and performed experiments on children with psychokinetic abilities, including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who called him Papa. At the end of the teaser, as the camera stops in front of a door with number 11 on it, Dr. Brenner (whose face is never seen) is heard asking, “Are you listening, Eleven?” By opening her eyes.

It’s not clear if this is a flashback, a dream, if Eleven has been captured and imprisoned again, or if she is using her telekinetic abilities to find Dr. Brenner in the present tense. While Dr. Brenner originally appeared to have been killed by the Demogorgon in Season 1, it was hinted in Seasons 2 and 3 that he was alive, which was also confirmed by the producers of the series. .

The first trailer for season 4, released on February 14, 2020, teased the return of another Strange things character who was feared dead, Hopper from David Harbor.

“We are delighted to officially confirm that production on Strange things 4 is now underway – and even happier to announce the return of Hopper, ”the creators of The Duffer Brothers wrote in a note to fans that accompanied the release of this first teaser (you can watch it below ). A month later, filming was suspended due to the escalation of the coronavirus pandemic. It resumed at the end of September. No premiere date for the new season, which is still in production, has yet to be set.

Here’s what else the Duffer brothers teased about the new season in February 2020. “While that’s not good news for our ‘American’ (Hopper); he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human … and others. Meanwhile, back in America, a new horror begins to surface, something long buried, something that ties everything together. Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest, scariest season yet, and we can’t wait for everyone to see more of it. In the meantime, pray for the American.

At the end of season 3, following the explosion, aimed at destroying the Soviet laboratory at Upside Down at the back of the new Starcourt shopping center, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) takes her sons (Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp) and Eleven ( Brown) out of Indiana City to start a new life. There is a leap in geography in the final scene, which takes place in the far east of the USSR where the guards feed a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon, but “not the American”.

Created by Matt and Ross Duffer, Strange things is produced by Monkey Massacre Productions & 21 Laps Entertainment. The twin brothers serve as writers, directors, executive producers and showrunners on the series alongside producer / executive director Shawn Levy and executive producer Dan Cohen of 21 Laps and executive producer Iain Paterson.
