Must-Do Matches for Main Card Winners – fr

UFC Vegas 27 took place last night (Saturday, May 22, 2021) at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a bantamweight fight that saw Rob Font clinch a huge victory over the former division champion. , Cody Garbrandt, headlining (see him again here). In the co-main event, Carla Esparza cemented her place as the No.1 contender in the strawweight division by defeating Yan Xiaonan by technical knockout in the second round.

Winner: Rob Font

Who he should face next: winner of Sandhagen vs Dillashaw

The bantamweight division is currently on hold due to division king Aljamain Sterling sidelined with injury. When he returns, he will likely face former champion Petr Yan in October or November. Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw will face off in a few months, which could see the winner claim the title. Of course, a lot can happen by then, so it’s up to Font to stay ready to step in for any of these fights. If all goes according to plan, I can also see Font promoting against winner Sandhagen and Dillashaw for a shot at the title.

Winner: Carla Esparza

Who she should face next: Rose Namajunas title fight

Esparza made a categorical statement stopping Yan Xianon in the second round of their strawweight bout, giving him the first loss in nearly a decade. With that. “Cookie Monster” definitely deserves the first crack to end Namajunas’ second round as Division Queen. Ironically enough, Esparza beat “Thug Rose” six years ago to become the first 115-pound UFC champion, so she’ll come in with a lot of confidence.

Winner: Jared Vanderaa

Who he should fight next: Ben Rothwell

Vanderaa returned to the win column with a strong performance against Justin Tafa. The same was true of Rothwell, who smothered Chris Barnett with a guillotine choke, putting him back in the win column as well. That’s why I would like to see these two great men throw hay at each other. Rothwell has the advantage over Vanderaa, but “The Mountain” is a game and I’m sure he would accept the chance to bring out a longtime veteran to increase his stock.

Winner: Norma Dumont

Who she should face next: Danyelle Wolfe

The women’s featherweight division is sorely lacking in fighters, so trying to defeat a suitable foe isn’t the easiest thing to do. Then for her, a fight against Wolfe seems fitting since she was set to make her UFC debut against Felicia Spence, whom Dumont defeated. The Canadian boxer has only one MMA fight under her belt, so there isn’t much tape on her to see how she would do against a seven-fight veteran.

Winner: Ricardo Ramos

Who he should fight next: Gavin Tucker

Ramos returned to the winning column with a dominant victory over Bill Algeo. The next step for the Brazilian should be a fight against Tucker, who failed in his last fight against Dan Ige, losing by KO just 22 seconds after the start of the fight. Before the loss, Tucker was on an impressive streak winning 13 of his 14 professional fights. Ramos and Tucker have roughly the same UFC experience, so one wouldn’t have the edge over the other in that department.

Winner: Jack Hermansson

Who he should fight next: winner of Hall vs Strickland

Hermansson scored a huge victory by giving Edmen Shahbazyan his second straight loss after losing to current No.1 Marvin Vettori in his last outing. As for what could be next for the Joker, he should keep an eye out for the winner of the upcoming fight between Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland, who are set to fight at UFC 265 in August. Hermansson has yet to face either of these two men, so either would be a new match.
