Now it’s a party boat.
Rolls-Royce has unveiled a yacht-inspired roadster of which it will only make three separate examples, each valued at over $ 10 million.
The Boat Tail is built on the platform like other Rolls-Royce models, which appear to be bargains under $ 500,000, but feature custom bodywork that took four years to design and execute.
From the wings inspired by a ship’s hull to a long, tapered tail topped with wood and stainless steel decking, it looks as much like a Riva motorboat as it does a luxury car.
The most unusual feature of the example revealed by Rolls-Royce is hidden below the deck, which opens mechanically in a butterfly fashion to reveal a crystal, porcelain and silver lunch set with a champagne refrigerator and swivel cocktail tables. .
The owner can also deploy an umbrella that emerges from the center of the car.
There is room on board for two fitted folding stools and a few small bags, but not for large luggage or even a suitable roof. It comes with a fabric top that can be tied up, but should be left behind on sunny days.
There is storage space in the dashboard for two bespoke Bovet 1822 watches, one of which features a map of the stars of the night sky on the buyer’s birthday.
