For the managers of Elite Models, sexual predation was allegedly a twisted game played with clubhouse jocularity, media say.

What about young women dreaming of catwalk fame? They were the losers, according to the allegations.

Predators reportedly kept a tally of the women they slept with, kept ranking, and were awarded bonus points if the girls they defiled were virgins or underage.

Welcome to the dark underbelly of one of the world’s most glamorous professions.

Now, French cops are investigating the former president of the Paris-based agency, Gerald Marie, whom a former partner described as a “sexual predator”. Daily mail reported.

And so far, 14 women claim to have been raped or sexually harassed by the catwalk leader. Marie is the ex-husband of Canadian model Linda Evangelista.

For her part, Evangelista has publicly stated that she believes in women.

“The younger they were, the more points there were, and the more virgins there were, the more points there were,” said whistleblower Omar Harfouch. Le Sunday Times.

We apologize, but this video failed to load.

“The [Marie] touched the breasts, the buttocks of the women… He always used very sexual and vulgar words when speaking about women.

The fashion business has long been a minefield for young women. Harfouch described a horrific culture of abuse at Elite that spanned from the 1980s to the 1990s.

For its part, Elite – now under new ownership – called the grim allegations “flagrant and heinous”. The company has since been split into two with an American subsidiary and one in Paris.

Over the years, Marie has fervently denied any wrongdoing.

Lebanese businessman Harfouch told the newspaper he was assisting French cops in their investigation.

“I explained to the police, to help them in their investigation, how it worked,” he said. “Gerald [Marie] and a few agency bookers had a board they wrote down who slept with the most women. The criteria for this competition were their age. “

Powerful people like model agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who was at the Paris end of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking pipeline, might have had reason to want the financier dead.
Powerful people like model agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who was at the Paris end of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking pipeline, may have had reason to want the financier dead.

He added, “The younger they were, the more points there were, and the more virgins there were, the more points there were. At the end of each fashion week, they compared their achievements. “

Harfouch eventually left the agency in what has been described as an “acrimonious” departure.

One of the problems for complainants – indeed any sex victim – is that France has a 20-year statute of limitations for sex crimes.

Anne-Claire Le Jeune – a lawyer who represents the accusers in the cases of Marie, Jeffrey Epstein and powerful modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel – said things could change.

“The [the Marie accusations] is exactly the same scenario as Brunel, originally we are told that everything goes beyond the prescription, we are not going to investigate the facts beyond the prescription, ”said Le Jeune Time.

“But when investigators actually continue their investigations, they realize that there are other elements.”

Among the plaintiffs are four British women.

Former BBC journalist Lisa Brinkworth, 53, claims she was sexually assaulted by Marie in 1998. At the time, she was working undercover trying to expose sex crimes in the fashion world.

American model Carre Otis, 51, is also one of the plaintiffs. She claims to have been sexually assaulted by Marie when she was naive 17 years old in Paris.

“We come from a time when this behavior was blatant. We all know the perpetrators, there was no way to hide their behavior, ”Otis said.

“We still face a totally unregulated industry where writers are still working, which is appalling.”
