An ex-girlfriend of Marilyn Manson has filed a complaint against the goth singer, alleging that he raped and physically assaulted her during their relationship.
The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday. The woman asked to remain anonymous because she “has very reasonable fears,” he said. She is the last woman to present allegations against Manson, real name Brian Warner.
The woman, nicknamed “Jane Doe,” said the abuse began in 2011 after meeting Manson at a pre-Grammy party. Days after they met, Manson invited her to his apartment to watch a movie while his then-assistant Ashley Walters chaperoned, according to the lawsuit.
Walters filed his own lawsuit against the singer alleging sexual exploitation and psychological abuse. A representative for Manson denied any accusation of assault made by Walters.
Jane Doe’s lawsuit says her romantic relationship with Manson was initially consensual, but accuses her of using her celebrity status and power to “exploit and victimize her.”
“The accused drew the plaintiff, a musician, into what was initially a consensual romantic relationship. Soon after, however, he raped Ms. Doe. He also subjected Ms. Doe to other degrading acts of sexual exploitation, manipulation and psychological abuse, ”he alleges.
According to the lawsuit, Manson told Jane Doe that he loved her about two weeks after they started their relationship and asked her to move in with him. The costume says Manson made it clear that she was “bound to be with him quite often” unless he was rehearsing or during another engagement.
The woman agreed to move in with him but kept her old apartment, which she shared with her aunt. Shortly after moving in, Manson became “more and more controlling” and was texting the woman “over and over” as she walked into her old apartment.
When she didn’t get home quickly enough, Manson punished her, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit also accuses Manson of denying her food and of requiring “extremely frequent sex.” He says Manson forced her to have sex with him and that he often became violent during sex, leaving her with bruises.
The day the woman went to Manson’s apartment to return her key, he raped her, according to the lawsuit.
“He said she drove him crazy, and she made him do this to her,” the costume says. “Afterward, as he stood in the doorway, he said to her, ‘Don’t ever make me do this again.’ “
He continues: “Warner then threatened to kill the complainant. He also boasted that he “would get away with it” if he did kill her. “
The lawsuit also details troubling allegations regarding Manson’s relationship with actress Evan Rachel Wood and a meeting he had with a young girl.
According to the lawsuit, Manson told Jane Doe that he wanted to kill Wood and had tied her to a chair and pointed a gun at her.
“He said he had considered killing Ms. Wood, but then decided to be merciful,” the lawsuit says.
Wood said in an Instagram post in February that Manson started grooming her as a teenager “and abused her horribly” for years. Following his allegations, Manson’s label said he would immediately stop promoting his latest album and not work with him on future projects.
Manson responded in an Instagram post in February, writing that “these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. No matter how – and why – others now choose to distort the past, it’s the truth. “
Jane Doe’s lawsuit also indicates that Manson played a video to her that showed him berating and threatening a young girl after she went to a room where he had been partying with his band mates. Video reportedly showed Manson tying up the girl and interrogating her while she cried, according to the lawsuit.
Manson then removed the girl’s shirt and forced her to drink a glass containing her groupmate’s urine, according to the costume. The singer also threatened the girl with a gun, he said.
“The complainant had never seen anything so disturbing and was traumatized,” says the trial.
The woman said in the costume that she decided to come forward after other women shared similar experiences.
A member of Manson’s team has strongly denied the allegations made in Jane Doe’s trial.
A source close to the singer said the video “is a scripted short” which was shot by a crew who frequently worked with Manson and starred an adult actress.
“The actress in the film was an adult who had also appeared in a previous music video titled ‘The Long Hard Road Out of Hell’. The scripted short was meant to be an additional video feature for an upcoming album release, but it was never released, ”the source said.
Manson, 52, has not been charged with any felony. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in February it had opened a domestic violence investigation into alleged incidents while the singer was living in West Hollywood. This was announced after Wood’s allegations.
The singer also faces assault counts outside of New Hampshire. Earlier this week, the Gilford Police Department said it had an arrest warrant for Manson related to an incident at the Bank of New Hampshire pavilion involving a videographer.
The alleged incident happened during a concert in 2019, but what exactly happened was not made clear by police. A lawyer for the singer called the claim “ridiculous” but said they were determined to cooperate with authorities.
